Energy Star

EPA's guidelines set the standard for new construction energy efficiency. Homeowners save, on average, $500/year over a noncertified home. Federally subsidized, the Energy-Star program costs nothing to the homeowner or the builder, but improves the resale value and lowers energy bills. A win-win.
